Without any rain break the Salzburg challenge cup 2006 could be enjoyed by the 68 participants at best weather.

The heavy soil and a small pond at the roadside showed however that only the snow had briefly yielded before. Special praise to the organizer "LSV Salzburg" with George Kraus and its team that was really endeavored to present the participants an optimal competition environment.

So the winch line was prepared with sawdust to limit the slush to a minimum. Also the get- and bring-service by means of tractor was a successful idea to overcome the long distance from the parking lot to the winch line.

With weak wind from different directions the flight conditions were indifferent accordingly to the early season. So the conditions were particularly indifferent in the speed discipline. In exterm short period of time the conditions changed very rapidly. A additional change of the wind direction and there was no chance to fly a good speed time. The best results moved around 16s, among this only very few flights tackled. Nevertheless the three completly flown rounds guaranteed fair conditions for everyone and gave everybode the chance to compensate a bad flight.

Also all three speed disciplines flown in reverse ranking sequence took this into account.

Summa summarum a really successful start of the season 2006.
